When they return to their own time they ace their history test that they would have failed. If it had not been for the knowledge they gained while in the past. The story begins in 1871 when Emma has first turned eight years old and is going to have a birthday. Eventually she encounters the eerie white cat that the other fieldsmen have been telling everybody about. Emma learns the animal is just a cat and overcomes her fear and superstition.

About the Author
Troy Lane Glover was born in 1965 and raised in the north central part of Kentucky, in a small town called Mt. Washington. He has worked on the bindery side of a local printing company ever since he got out of high school in 1984. Mr. Glover has worked there, for the past twenty-five years, where he learned the ins and outs of the book-making industry. Within that time, he and his wife have raised two handsome boys who now have children of their own. Many a summer evening, they would all sit out in their backyard where Troy would tell them stories that he invented. During the recession of 2008, he was let go from his career as a stitcher operator where he went back to college. This new beginning is where he began committing one of his stories to print. In 2011, he moved to Richmond Virginia to look for a new career in the envelope making industry. From his sociology class of American history, he has finished his story, The Granite Toad, which is a collaboration of life experiences and extensive research.
